STEP 1: Completed applications will be screened to ensure minimum expectations are met:

• Must reside in UMS boundaries
• Incoming 6^th grader for the 2018-2019 school  year
• Composite grade poing average of a B (80%) for content area classes (Reading, ELA, Math, Science & Social Studies) based on 1^st semester report card from 2017-2018 school year.
• Score within the appropriate range on the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) based on ranking of all applicants.

STEP 2: Selected students are required to attend student/parent meetings to discuss student expectations, responsibilities and commitments as a USTEM student.
