From the Principal

Dear Parents,
As we move into 2015, I want to say Thank You to all of you for your help and support in 2014.  We are so fortunate to have such a great group of families at United Middle School!
I hope that everyone had a restful and enjoyable time over the holidays.  The New Year brings us an  opportunity to reflect and consider how to make changes in the areas where we would like to improve.  Here at UMS, we are ready to refocus our   energies on improving academic performance at our school.  We have been working diligently to move our student progress from GREAT to  EXCELLENT!   Teachers are analyzing  student performance regularly in  order to plan individualized, meaningful and rigorous instruction.
We need your help at home by establishing routines so that students are completing homework and/or practicing/reviewing skills learned at school.  We also ask that you review our behavior expectations that are in place which are our MAVS (Manners, Achievement,  Values, and Safety ).   It is vital that our students are exhibiting these  positive behaviors that will help    provide the best learning  environment possible for all our  students.
Mrs. Morales
